With force and fury wow, this hurricane is no joke. Hurricane Sally made landfall along the coast of Alabama just after 6 a.m., bringing some of the gulf of Mexico with it. No idea where that boat came from the storm hit the coast as a category 2 hurricane packing sustained winds of more than 165 kilometers an hour. My wifey was just crying because she’d never seen this before too and my kids were scared and i told them it was going to be okay. The storm knocked out power lines, leaving more than half a million people in Alabama and Florida in the dark. The wind was powerful enough to tip over this tractor trailer. Luckily, the driver wasn’t seriously hurt in gulf shores. Alabama roadways became waterways. Buildings in low-lying areas were flooded, while some high-rises had walls ripped away in Pensacola Florida. Part of this bridge is now gone where it wasn’t wind. It was rain.
In some areas the storm was expected to drop anywhere from 60 to 90 centimeters of rain. I will tell you it’s bad. Its’s going to take a considerable amount of time to clean up from this. In one neighborhood, the flood water brought an unwanted visitor. Oh my god, this is outside of our window. It is a 10 or 12 foot alligator. The high water conditions also made it difficult for emergency crews to help those who try to ride out the storm. All right, guppy’s good ranch has been here about 45 years.
Now it used to be a farm until hurricane Katrina hit all of our gators got loose. We had close to 250 gators get out now we’re back up to around 60 in our population than our enclosures out there, I’m thinking of a side relief somewhat, because yesterday they were talking about nine foot surge now they’re talking about maybe two to four foot, which Won’t be bad here, our parking lot might go underwater, our office might partially go underwater, but it’s not going to be too bad and we’re going to begin with a life-threatening and devastating flooding emergency that is stretching along the gulf coast from Florida to Alabama.
Now, as we come on the air tonight, parts of Pensacola are under as much as five feet of water from hurricane sally as what’s left of the powerful storm continues to dump feet of rain across the south sally slammed into the Alabama coast this morning, after gaining Strength again over the gulf and tonight she is pushing north bringing torrential rains and possible tornadoes with her in sally’s wake. Tonight there are flooded buildings ripped off roofs and more than half a million people without power. Tonight the flooding is catastrophic.
The storm which strengthened to a category two overnight made landfall near gulf shores, Alabama packing 105 mile per hour winds so strong. They flip this tractor trailer. The damage is extensive. Buildings ripped apart roofs shattered the walls of this condominium, building sheared off the devastation left here. Along the gulf coast, residents will remind you they are resilient. I think we’re happy that we, that this is all we have and we haven’t lost too much and we’re just trying to take care of everyone in the neighborhood. Trying to you know, pick up for them and return things that belong to them. Look tonight a half a million people are without power and because of this storm, where we are in Pensacola beach, most people are without clean water.
